Role Summary:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and achieving sales targets for Elita, Intralase, Visx, Catalys, and TS products within the designated geography. The role includes business development, account management, equipment placement, upgrades, training, and customer engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

  • Meet or exceed annual targets for Refractive, Catalys, and Tearscience products in assigned geography.

  • Maintain and increase Key Card/PI/LOI/Activator volume.

  • Place new equipment and upgrades for current platforms.

  • Identify and acquire new KLEX & FLACS customers.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintain positive relationships with JJSV customers to drive product sales growth.

  • Provide assessment, critique, and training to customers to enhance product adoption.

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, administrators, and key decision-makers.

  • Motivate and guide customers through direct meetings and interactions.

Training & Consultation Support:

  • Be knowledgeable about consumer conversion from initial contact to consultation.

  • Understand the consultation process within practices.

  • Provide one-on-one staff training in call conversion, consult closure, and upselling of premium products.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Maintain SFE reporting and ensure timely submission of procedure data.

  • Track SILK & LCS conversions.

  • Complete compliance training and expense statement submissions as required.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong sales and business development experience in MedTech or capital equipment sales.

  • Excellent customer engagement and relationship-building skills.

  • Knowledge of refractive, FLACS, and Tearscience products is advantageous.

  • Ability to provide training and support to customer staff.

  • Strong reporting and administrative skills for tracking sales and compliance.
