Role Overview

The Manager, HEOR leads multi-disciplinary research teams and provides strategic Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) expertise across all stages of projects—from planning to communication. This role ensures projects meet client expectations, adhere to high-quality methodological standards, and drive actionable insights that influence healthcare decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership:

  • Manage multiple HEOR projects on-time and within budget, overseeing scope, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Develop, review, and ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of project materials.

  • Delegate tasks, supervise junior staff and contractors, and implement quality control procedures.

  • Identify potential project risks and devise contingency plans.

Methodology & Research Expertise:

  • Provide guidance on pharmacoeconomic analyses, cost-effectiveness modeling, and health technology assessment (HTA) submissions.

  • Ensure all projects are underpinned by robust, defendable HEOR methods.

Client Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for future collaboration.

  • Deliver actionable insights and communicate complex HEOR findings clearly to clients.

Team Development:

  • Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering professional growth and a positive work environment.

  • Contribute to internal best practices, process improvements, and knowledge sharing.

Company Contribution:

  • Assist in proposal development, project staffing, and workload management.

  • Support decisions on company direction, staffing, and growth initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • MSc in Life Sciences, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or related field.

  • At least 3 years of direct experience in HEOR, health technology assessment, or related research.

  • Strong expertise in cost-effectiveness model design, analysis, and interpretation.

  • Experience with HTA submissions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EndNote; familiarity with R or DistillerSR is an asset.

  • Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in VBA model programming.

  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management experience.


Work Environment

  • Office-based role with frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

  • Fast-paced environment with moderate noise and frequent interruptions.

  • Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week; occasional overtime or evening/weekend hours may be required.


Compensation

  • Base Salary: CAD 100,000 – 110,000 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.
