Role Overview

The Associate Director – Digital Endpoint Lead plays a critical role in advancing digital biomarker and digital endpoint development within the global Data Sciences organization. This leadership position focuses on designing, validating, and operationalizing innovative digital endpoints that enhance clinical trials, real-world evidence generation, and lifecycle management activities.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Digital Health, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Data Science to ensure scientific rigor, clinical relevance, and regulatory acceptance of digital health technologies. This role is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in digital biomarker development, algorithm validation, and advanced data analytics within the pharmaceutical or healthcare technology environment.


Key Responsibilities

Digital Endpoint & Biomarker Development

  • Lead the scientific and strategic development of digital endpoints and digital biomarkers across therapeutic programs.

  • Identify, validate, and deploy novel digital outcome measures using data from wearables, sensors, mobile apps, and digital health platforms.

  • Develop and validate algorithms to extract clinically relevant insights while ensuring accuracy, scalability, and regulatory readiness.

Clinical Evidence & Regulatory Integration

  • Embed digital health technologies into evidence-generation plans, ensuring alignment with clinical, scientific, and regulatory expectations.

  • Contribute to global regulatory submissions, dossiers, and publications related to digital endpoints and digital biomarker acceptance.

  • Ensure all digital endpoints meet global clinical validation and psychometric requirements.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Global Digital Health teams to design and implement advanced digital data analytics frameworks.

  • Collaborate across matrixed organizations to integrate digital health solutions into clinical programs.

  • Provide scientific leadership and serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.

Innovation & Strategy

  • Stay updated on emerging digital health trends, algorithms, signal processing advancements, and AI/ML technologies.

  • Drive strategic initiatives that enhance digital measurement capabilities across global R&D.

  • Champion digital transformation by promoting the adoption of digital health technologies across clinical research.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • PhD in a quantitative natural science, medical science, or a relevant analytical field with a strong emphasis on large-scale data analysis.

  • Minimum 7 years of industry experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical technology, or digital health sector.

  • Proven experience designing, validating, and implementing digital endpoints or digital biomarkers for clinical applications.

  • Expertise working with data from wearables, sensors, mobile apps, and digital health platforms.

  • Strong proficiency in algorithm development, signal processing, and AI/ML models relevant to digital health.

  • Deep understanding of psychometric validation, statistical assessment methods, and regulatory considerations for digital endpoints.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to operate in complex matrix environments.

  • Strong communication and scientific writing skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
