Role Summary:
Biocon Biologics is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager in Packaging Development to manage artwork and packaging configurations for both export and domestic markets. This role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance, serialization standards, pack innovation, and seamless coordination with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

Artwork Management:

  • Support cross-functional and partner teams in developing, updating, and finalizing artwork for all SKUs in export and domestic markets.

  • Review digital proofs and shade cards to ensure compliance with approved artworks.

  • Provide source files and resolve technical issues with vendors and supply chain.

Packaging Development:

  • Develop secondary and tertiary packaging configurations for regulated and emerging markets.

  • Innovate and implement mechanisms in packaging artwork for product differentiation (e.g., colors, designs, pharma codes) to prevent component mix-ups.

  • Design and support packaging for medical devices.

Serialization & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Maintain 2D barcodes, shipper barcodes, EAN-13, UPC (A), pharma codes, and serialization requirements for all export markets.

  • Stay updated on global track-and-trace and serialization compliance standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Provide technical packaging and labeling support to Marketing, QA, QC, RA, SCM, Production, and Purchase departments.

  • Manage and maintain pack profiles that serve as source documentation for Batch Packaging Records (BPR) and Distribution Records (DR).


Candidate Profile:

  • Education: B.Sc. in Packaging Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field.

  • Experience: 6 to 10 years in pharmaceutical packaging development, with hands-on experience in:

    • Medical device packaging

    • Serialization and labeling for regulated markets

    • Pack innovation and compliance documentation

  • Strong technical knowledge of packaging materials, barcoding, and global market packaging regulations.

  • Excellent coordination and communication skills to work with internal teams and external vendors.
