Role Purpose

The Associate Director will lead the design, management, and evolution of global mental health and wellbeing programmes for GSK employees. This includes training programmes, individual and team interventions, and self-service tools/resources aimed at enhancing employee health, wellbeing, and resilience. The role drives mental health initiatives through effective internal and external partnerships and ensures evidence-based, scalable, and impactful programmes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs assessments to understand GSK mental health and wellbeing requirements (e.g., health data, medical claims, HRAs, existing programmes).

  • Design evidence-based health and wellbeing programmes using clinical guidelines, health behaviour change, and population health management principles.

  • Pilot programmes to evaluate feasibility and effectiveness, and propose scaling globally with associated budget.

  • Source, manage, and evaluate vendors/providers for programme delivery to ensure clinical quality and impact.

  • Collaborate with Regional Health Promotion Leads for programme planning considering business needs, culture, and local healthcare systems.

  • Work with Global Comms and Digital Leads to create communication and engagement plans.

  • Evaluate and report programme impact (participation, engagement, uptake, outcomes, cost-effectiveness).

  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to continuously improve programme design.

  • Contribute to updates of Global GSK Mental Health Standards.


Basic Qualifications

  • University Degree (Bachelor or Master) in Health Promotion, Public Health, Occupational Health, Psychology, or Behavioural Science.

  • 15+ years overall experience, including 5+ years in public health, health promotion, behaviour change, or global health programme management.


Requirements / Skills

  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating global health and wellbeing programmes across countries/cultures.

  • Strong consulting and influencing skills to engage senior stakeholders and adapt programmes to business needs.

  • Data-driven vendor management and contract negotiation skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional global teams, demonstrating agility, integrity, and flexibility.

  • Strong accountability, project management, and strategic planning skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the global pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, particularly in Employee Health & Wellbeing or Employee Benefits.

  • Proficiency in leveraging technology, AI, and data analytics to enhance employee experience and programme efficiency.

  • Qualification or experience in Mental Health practice or research.
