Position Overview

The Account Services Director (Group Account Director) will lead strategic account operations for multiple pharma and corporate medical communications clients. Acting as a senior leader, you will drive business growth, manage a multidisciplinary team, develop and oversee budgets, maintain key relationships, and ensure flawless execution of a variety of medical communications initiatives.

You will report to the SVP, Account Services/Operations, and serve as a key partner across all aspects of client management—from program delivery to financial oversight and strategic insight generation.


Key Responsibilities

πŸ”Ή Client Relationship & Strategy

  • Serve as senior point-of-contact for pharma and corporate clients

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, faculty, and internal stakeholders

  • Partner with sourcing/procurement for purchase orders and contract alignment

πŸ”Ή Program Leadership

  • Oversee and guide the development and execution of initiatives, such as:

    • Slide decks & educational materials

    • Speaker trainings (live/web-based)

    • Conferences, symposia, product theaters

    • KOL consulting engagements

    • Advisory boards

    • Speaker bureau expansion programs

πŸ”Ή Business & Financial Oversight

  • Drive organic growth and identify upsell opportunities

  • Develop strategy for SS&C (Scientific Strategy & Communications) projects

  • Manage full project lifecycle and ensure projects are on scope, on time, and on budget

  • Lead SOW and budget development

  • Oversee quarterly invoicing and cost forecasting

  • Monitor revenue recognition and financial closeouts

  • Review and approve final materials before delivery to clients

  • Lead and support cross-functional project teams

  • Maintain accountability for communication, performance, and project results

  • Coach junior team members and delegate responsibilities accordingly

πŸ”Ή Compliance & Best Practices

  • Ensure adherence to:

    • Client corporate compliance

    • HIPAA, PhRMA Code, and Sunshine Act regulations

    • Internal Fallon Medica and IQVIA procedures


Qualifications

πŸ† Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in Account Management within healthcare or medical communications

  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and project management skills

  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review process

  • Proven experience in managing complex client relationships and high-volume projects

πŸ› οΈ Technical Skills

  • High proficiency in:

    • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    • Veeva Vault, Veeva Events Management

    • Adobe E-Sign, CVENT

    • Virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Webex, etc.)

🧠 Soft Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Strong multitasking and prioritization under pressure

  • Self-motivated with a resolute and autonomous work ethic

  • Comfortable providing after-hours or off-site client support when needed


Education Requirements

πŸŽ“ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/work experience required


Travel Requirements

✈️ 12+ trips annually, including:

  • Live client events and speaker programs (may include weekends)

  • Quarterly in-person business reviews (up to 4/year in California)


Compensation & Benefits

πŸ’° Estimated Salary Range: $127,700 – $355,400 (annualized)
