🎯 Role Overview

The Zonal Account Manager is responsible for driving sales of Orthopedic Joint Implants (Hip & Knee Replacements) across key accounts in the assigned zone. The role involves managing customer relationships, developing long-term partnerships, and providing product expertise to healthcare professionals.


🔑 Key Responsibilities

📈 Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve/exceed sales targets for orthopedic implants in the assigned territory

  • Engage with Orthopedic Surgeons and Hospital Purchase Departments to generate demand

  • Negotiate and close high-value deals with institutional clients

  • Prepare weekly/monthly sales action plans aligned with business goals

  • Participate in trade shows and conferences as needed

🗺️ Territory & Account Management

  • Develop and maintain strong territory knowledge and customer base

  • Provide consultative sales support to surgeons, including product recommendations

  • Identify tenders and contract opportunities; coordinate with internal teams for execution

  • Manage consigned inventory and surgical instruments at key accounts

  • Deliver effective in-service training to hospital staff (CSSD, OT, Biomedical)

👨‍⚕️ Clinical Education & Product Demonstration

  • Conduct product demonstrations and technical sessions with surgeons

  • Train surgeons on new technologies and product usage

  • Monitor adoption and usage of products by trained surgeons

📊 Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze sales performance and recommend strategies to improve growth

  • Track usage trends, competition, and market developments

  • Provide feedback to marketing and product teams on customer insights

📦 Distribution & Inventory Management

  • Maintain distributor health and stock levels as per operational guidelines

  • Ensure availability of complete surgical sets and coordinate replenishment

  • Initiate replacement of damaged instruments and manage product lifecycle

💰 Expense & Budget Management

  • Manage AR, travel, marketing expenses, and samples within approved budgets

  • Follow compliance protocols for sample issuance and expense reporting

  • Ensure efficient use of resources and cost-effective operations

  • Participate in company-provided training programs

  • Apply self-learning strategies to stay updated on products, procedures, and regulations

  • Achieve high scores in knowledge tests and competency assessments

🧠 Qualifications & Experience

📚 Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science (preferred)

🧳 Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in medical device sales

  • Prior experience in orthopedic implants / joint replacement is a plus

  • Proven track record in managing HCPs / KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders)

🌐 Language Proficiency:

  • Proficient in Hindi, English, and local regional language of the assigned territory
