About the Role:

The Subject Relations Associate supports the Subject Relations department to ensure complete volunteer satisfaction in Phase I studies. This role promotes volunteer engagement, increases repeat participation, and ensures efficient and cost-effective recruitment for all Phase I studies in the Austin area.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Educate potential volunteers about the clinic’s facility and processes to encourage screening, enrollment, and study completion

  • Support volunteers with reinstatement, exclusion, and requests for information

  • Monitor subject feedback to ensure a positive Phase I experience

  • Communicate screening outcomes and other relevant findings to volunteers

  • Represent PPD Phase I and Dental Clinic at external community events to increase volunteer recruitment

  • Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure volunteer activities maintain morale and provide a pleasant environment for overnight stays

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical positions may require additional certification)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Experience should provide knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform essential job functions


Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to multi-task effectively

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Presentation and organizational skills

  • Problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to foster a collaborative team environment


Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Frequently stationary for 4–6 hours per day

  • Repetitive hand movements required

  • Occasional mobility and light to moderate lifting (15–20 lbs)

  • Ability to use diverse computer software and handle sensitive information

  • Extended periods of mental focus; ability to perform under stress and balance multiple tasks

  • Regular attendance is essential
