Job Summary

Amgen is hiring a Sr Associate Biostatistical Programming professional to support the Centre for Observational Research (CfOR) by developing statistical programming solutions using SAS, R, SQL, and potentially Python. This hands-on role will work on real-world data (RWD) and real-world evidence (RWE) generation, collaborating globally and contributing to regulatory submissions, publications, and internal decision-making processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Write, test, validate, and execute programs in Unix, Databricks, SAS, R, and SQL.

  • Create analysis datasets, tables, and figures for regulatory submission and publications.

  • Lead technical programming initiatives and process improvements within CfOR.

  • Collaborate across global teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

  • Manage programming timelines, adhere to SOPs, and contribute to study documents.

  • Participate in audits, recruitment, policy reviews, and team meetings.


Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree + 1–3 years of relevant experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree + 3–5 years of experience OR

  • Diploma + 7–9 years of experience
    Fields: Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Economics, or other relevant disciplines


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong programming experience in SAS or R and SQL; Python preferred.

  • Experience working with real-world healthcare data (RWD), including claims and EHR systems (e.g., MarketScan, Optum, Flatiron, CPRD).

  • Understanding of OMOP common data model, CDISC standards (SDTM, ADaM), and epidemiological concepts.

  • Strong communication, collaboration across time zones, and agile project management.
