Position Overview:
The Principal Scientist, Biology will serve as a scientific thought leader within the Research organization, driving innovation in early-stage discovery activities, cancer biology research, and development of novel technologies. This role involves leading lab-based teams, collaborating across functions, and contributing to target identification, validation, and pre-clinical pipeline development.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Mentor and guide lab-based scientific teams to advance projects and careers.

  • Provide scientific and technical leadership across Research functions.

  • Collaborate with experts in oncology, immune-oncology, protein engineering, translational medicine, biomarkers, and clinical development.

  • Identify project risks and provide solutions while communicating with project teams and leaders.

Innovation & Scientific Expertise:

  • Develop and propose rigorous research to discover, validate, and understand targets.

  • Drive early-stage discovery activities, enhance understanding of disease mechanisms, and advance new technologies and targeting modalities.

  • Maintain expertise in relevant scientific fields, literature, and competitive landscape.

  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary due diligence for partnerships and acquisitions.

  • Support research reports, IND submissions, and patent filings.

  • Establish external presence through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and collaborations.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Ph.D. with 5+ years of relevant experience in tumor biology, drug discovery, target identification, or technology development (post-doctoral experience highly preferred).

  • Strong publication record and scientific impact in cancer biology or related fields.

  • Expertise in cancer genomics, oncogenic signaling, and pre-clinical models (in vitro and in vivo).

  • Broad technical skills including biochemical analysis of protein and protein-nucleic acid complexes.

  • Proven success in leading research teams and driving creative, data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $195,670 – $253,220 (based on experience and qualifications).

  • Eligible for discretionary annual bonus, stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
