💡 Job Overview

The Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Manager oversees and leads the Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Program. Reporting to the Ambulatory/Specialty Pharmacy Manager and Vice President of Pharmacy Services, this role is accountable for ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy for Specialty Pharmacy Patients.

📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Program Leadership: Develop and maintain disease/drug therapy management programs to ensure safe and effective drug therapy.
  • Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce policies and procedures for clinical pharmacy services, ensuring URAC/ACHC compliance.
  • Clinical Coordination: Lead clinical pharmacy activities focusing on drug monitoring, clinical pathways, pharmacoeconomics, and patient outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in Quality Assurance Committees to provide pharmacy insights on patient care quality issues.
  • Education and Communication: Create educational materials and communication systems for pharmacy and non-pharmacy teams, patients, and the public.
  • Staff Supervision: Directly supervise Specialty Clinical Pharmacists and Technician Navigators, providing feedback, mentoring, and process improvement leadership.
  • Professional Development: Support clinical goals, promote professional growth through education, and act as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents.

📋 Job Requirements

  • Education: Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Licensure: Must be licensed with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy
  • Experience: 4-5 years of progressive leadership experience in Specialty Pharmacy with a focus on Clinical Pharmacy
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, policy development, clinical pathways, and patient outcome optimization
