About the Role:

Partnering with the Engineering Lead, the Group Manager – Compliance & Investigations ensures engineering operations at Pfizer Vizag comply with cGMP, cGEP, and regulatory standards. This role oversees internal audits, engineering quality metrics, compliance training via EAMS, and promotes a strong quality culture through coaching and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee adherence to quality systems, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Review and approve change controls, engineering procedures, and documentation.

  • Lead root-cause investigations, CAPA implementation, and closure of quality records.

  • Ensure audit readiness and timely response to observations.

  • Implement Pfizer Quality Standards (PQS) and monitor training completion.

  • Lead structured investigations into equipment failures using methodologies like 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and FMEA.

  • Monitor deviation trends to identify systemic compliance risks.

  • Translate investigation findings into continuous improvement projects that enhance reliability and compliance.

  • Conduct audits, GEP/GDP/cGMP walkthroughs, and facilitate corrective actions.

  • Manage EAMS: define requirements, oversee user setup, planning, spare parts, upgrades, and vendor issues.

  • Monitor maintenance work order completion and mitigate compliance risks.

  • Prepare MIS reports and quality metrics; trend breakdowns and recommend corrective actions.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and quality.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Technical graduate with 10+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly engineering compliance or quality.

  • Strong knowledge of audit processes, engineering systems, and compliance frameworks.

  • Proven leadership experience: performance management, coaching, and talent development.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Highly organized with strategic thinking ability and situational leadership skills.
