Core Purpose of the Role

The Shift Operations Executive is responsible for monitoring and tracking activities during the shift, including ensuring the safe and efficient execution of lab operations, managing lab reactions, and overseeing equipment maintenance.


Role Accountabilities

  1. Monitoring Reactions & Lab Activities:

    • Track and monitor overnight chemical reactions and hydrogenation lab reactions after regular working hours.
    • Ensure the proper filling and preparation of inorganic chemicals relevant to lab activities.
    • Provide oxygen/argon/carbon dioxide/ammonia cylinders to lab scientists as needed.
  2. Safety & Emergency Response:

    • Ensure the safe quenching of toxic materials and manage the movement of materials to the quenching station.
    • Respond to emergencies or unexpected incidents during the shift.
    • Monitor and record the cold room temperature in the lab.
    • Ensure the safe disposal of waste and adherence to safety protocols.
  3. Equipment & Instrument Monitoring:

    • Monitor fresh solvent filling activities and ensure safe procedures are followed.
    • Regularly check and switch off equipment and instruments when not in use.
  4. Lab Support:

    • Prepare scrubber solutions for the column hoods, walk-in hoods, HTS labs, and ADC labs on the terrace.
    • Assist in the safe operation of lab activities during the shift and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Communication: Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of computer programs, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Operational Knowledge: Understanding of logistics, SEZ documentation, and warehouse operations.
  • Responsibility: Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and deliverables in alignment with departmental goals.
  • Safety Focus: Consistent adherence to safety protocols, and a proactive approach in promoting a safe working environment.

Experience

  • 0 - 3 years of experience in a laboratory or operational environment.

Education

  • B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) or equivalent degree.
