Job Overview

The Regional Medical & Scientific Affairs Manager is a strategic medical leadership role responsible for owning and driving all scientific and medical activities across the assigned region. This position plays a critical role in enabling high-quality scientific exchange, strengthening Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement, and supporting compliant medical communication in alignment with company objectives.

The role requires strong medical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and training teams while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.


Key Responsibilities

Regional Medical Leadership

  • Serve as the primary owner of all medical and scientific affairs activities within the assigned region.

  • Travel across the region to execute scientific programs and ensure effective field-level medical support.

  • Actively participate as a scientific speaker in lectures, presentations, and medical forums to drive high-quality scientific communication.

Scientific Engagement & Medical Communication

  • Facilitate the exchange of unbiased, evidence-based scientific information between the medical community and the organization.

  • Plan and execute head office–driven HCP digital and in-person engagement platforms as directed by the division head.

  • Prepare and deliver effective scientific presentations for internal stakeholders and external healthcare professionals.

KOL Management & Advocacy

  • Identify, segment, develop, and manage Key Opinion Leaders across therapeutic areas based on specialty, academic interest, and clinical experience.

  • Build long-term collaborative relationships with KOLs through educational and scientifically focused initiatives.

  • Support advocacy development through sustained, compliant scientific engagement.

Field Force & Sales Support

  • Work closely with regional sales teams through face-to-face and virtual interactions with healthcare professionals, in line with company policy.

  • Provide scientific support to handle medical queries and competitive objections raised in the field.

  • Communicate timely regional competitive and scientific intelligence to the Medical Director and Medical Affairs leadership.

Medical Information & Training

  • Oversee Medical Information Services (MIS) for the region, supporting the sales force with updated medical research, clinical guidelines, and standards of care.

  • Continuously update product and therapeutic knowledge of the field force.

  • Coordinate with training teams to deliver onboarding and ongoing medical training for new and existing employees.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all medical, scientific, and promotional activities are conducted in full compliance with internal policies, national regulations, and local industry codes of practice.

  • Maintain high standards of documentation, governance, and ethical conduct across all regional activities.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • MD or MBBS qualification is mandatory

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a Regional Medical Affairs or Medico-Marketing role

  • Prior experience within pharmaceutical or nutrition companies is strongly preferred
