Job Overview

A global biopharmaceutical leader is seeking a Manager, Scientific Communications to join its Global Medical Organization in Hyderabad. This role is a key contributor within the Scientific Communications function and is responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant, and innovative scientific, medical, and publication content aligned to designated therapeutic areas, including General Medicine, Inflammation, Oncology, Rare Disease, or Obesity.

Reporting to a Senior Manager, Scientific Communications (Group Lead), the role partners closely with Global, US, and Regional Medical teams to execute tactical scientific communication plans that support medical strategy and overall product objectives across multiple geographies.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific and Medical Content Development

  • Develop and deliver accurate, high-impact scientific and medical content, including digital scientific exchange (DSE) materials, MSL resources, FAQs, and Medical Information Letters for global and US audiences.

  • Author and manage scientific publications such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and enhanced congress content for peer-reviewed journals and scientific meetings.

  • Address complex medical information inquiries and escalations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Strategic Execution and Collaboration

  • Support execution of comprehensive scientific communication plans aligned with global medical and product strategies.

  • Partner with Global, US, and Regional Medical Planning teams to ensure content relevance, consistency, and scientific rigor.

  • Create payer-focused content and support compendia submissions to facilitate evidence-based decision-making.

Process, Compliance, and Innovation

  • Manage content workflows, reviews, and approvals using established systems and governance processes.

  • Ensure full compliance with internal SOPs, enterprise policies, and external regulatory and publication guidelines.

  • Collaborate with Scientific Communications Operations to drive process standardization, system optimization, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement.

  • Support innovation initiatives, including digital, omnichannel, and emerging technology-enabled scientific communications.


Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background:

  • Doctorate degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, DO) with 7+ years of relevant experience, or

  • Master’s degree or MBBS with 10+ years of experience in Global Publications, Medical Communications, Medical Information, Medical Value and Access, or Medical Strategy, or

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or

  • Associate’s degree with 15+ years of relevant experience.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in medical and publications content development within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry.

  • Prior experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or therapeutic area–specific clinical or research roles.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting global or regional medical communication initiatives.


Core Competencies and Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical development, commercialization processes, and regulatory and legal requirements governing scientific communications.

  • Proven experience with publication standards and transparency guidelines, including ICMJE and Good Publication Practice (GPP).

  • Ability to critically analyze clinical and scientific data and translate insights into clear, impactful medical narratives.

  • Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional, and global environments with limited supervision.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scientific communication–related systems and databases.


Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in scientific communications, including AI-enabled tools, digital platforms, and omnichannel engagement models.

  • Experience supporting transformation initiatives and innovative content delivery approaches.
