About the Role

Novo Nordisk is seeking a highly motivated Regional Medical Advisor (RMA) to join its Medical Affairs team. This role serves as the scientific and medical representative of the organization within the assigned region, translating national medical strategies into impactful local initiatives.

The Regional Medical Advisor will establish strong scientific relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), diabetes specialists, and other stakeholders while supporting medical education, clinical insights generation, and evidence-based decision-making.

This position is ideal for medical professionals passionate about patient care, scientific exchange, and advancing healthcare outcomes through strategic medical engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Strategy Implementation

  • Execute regional medical plans aligned with national Medical Affairs objectives.

  • Translate strategic medical goals into actionable local activities.

  • Monitor implementation timelines and ensure achievement of regional objectives.

  • Support execution of therapeutic area strategies and scientific initiatives.

Scientific Engagement & KOL Management

  • Build, develop, and maintain strong scientific relationships with:

    • Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)

    • Diabetologists

    • Endocrinologists

    • Physicians

    • Healthcare Professionals (HCPs)

  • Facilitate evidence-based scientific discussions.

  • Establish Novo Nordisk as a trusted scientific partner within the region.

Clinical Insights Generation

  • Attend scientific conferences, CMEs, workshops, and medical meetings.

  • Gather insights on:

    • Treatment practices

    • Emerging clinical trends

    • Unmet patient needs

    • Competitive landscape

  • Analyze and communicate actionable insights to internal stakeholders.

Medical Education & Training

  • Develop and deliver scientific education programs.

  • Conduct training sessions for:

    • Physicians

    • Healthcare Professionals

    • Internal Sales Teams

    • Marketing Teams

  • Ensure accurate understanding of clinical evidence and product information.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with:

    • Marketing Teams

    • Sales Teams

    • Regulatory Affairs

    • Market Access Teams

    • Commercial Excellence Teams

  • Provide scientific input for strategic business decisions.

  • Support development of scientifically compliant promotional activities.

Scientific Support

  • Provide medical expertise regarding:

    • Clinical Data Interpretation

    • Product Labeling

    • Therapeutic Positioning

    • Treatment Guidelines

  • Support internal stakeholders with evidence-based recommendations.

Compliance & Ethical Standards

  • Ensure all activities comply with:

    • Local Regulations

    • Medical Affairs Guidelines

    • Novo Nordisk Policies

    • Industry Ethical Standards

  • Maintain scientific integrity and patient-focused decision-making.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • MBBS from a recognized medical institution.

  • MD preferred.


Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in:

    • Medical Affairs

    • Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

    • Clinical Research

    • Medical Advisor Roles

    • Pharmaceutical Medical Functions

Preferred Experience

  • Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders.

  • Endocrinology-related therapeutic areas.

  • Previous experience as:

    • Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

    • Regional Medical Advisor

    • Medical Advisor
