Job Summary

The Regional Medical Advisor acts as the primary scientific representative of the organization for healthcare professionals and thought leaders within assigned therapy areas and geographies.

The role focuses on:

  • Scientific engagement with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)

  • Medical affairs strategy execution

  • Medical education and evidence generation

  • Therapy-area expertise

  • Strategic medical planning

  • Compliance and ethical governance


Key Responsibilities

1. KOL Identification & Engagement

  • Identify, map, and profile thought leaders within assigned therapy areas and regions

  • Build and maintain scientific relationships with:

    • Physicians

    • Pharmacists

    • Hospital managers

    • Scientific society members

    • Other healthcare stakeholders

  • Engage KOLs through medical affairs initiatives aligned with strategic goals


2. Medical Affairs Strategy Execution

  • Execute medical affairs plans including:

    • Medical education programs

    • Product education initiatives

    • Advisory boards

    • Evidence generation projects

    • Pre-license activities

    • Special scientific projects

  • Support development of annual Medical Affairs strategic plans


3. Scientific Expertise & Medical Communication

  • Serve as a scientific expert within assigned therapeutic areas

  • Discuss:

    • Clinical evidence

    • Product data

    • Treatment trends

    • Research findings

    • Disease management practices

  • Respond to scientific queries from healthcare professionals

  • Handle complex scientific and disease-related discussions effectively


4. Evidence Generation & Publications

  • Collaborate with thought leaders on:

    • Meta-analyses

    • Case studies

    • Case series

    • Therapy reviews

    • Patient-reported outcomes

  • Support publication of scientific work in reputed journals

  • Identify:

    • Knowledge gaps

    • Practice gaps

    • Data gaps

  • Develop strategic medical action plans based on identified gaps


5. Insights & Strategic Planning

  • Gather insights on:

    • Disease trends

    • Treatment patterns

    • Unmet medical needs

  • Convert scientific insights into actionable strategic plans

  • Contribute to:

    • Product ideation

    • Differentiated product development

    • Therapy area growth strategies


6. Internal Training & Capability Building

  • Develop training plans for:

    • Sales teams

    • Marketing teams

  • Ensure dissemination of latest scientific and medical developments internally

  • Support cross-functional knowledge enhancement


7. Scientific Representation

  • Represent the organization at:

    • Internal scientific forums

    • External scientific meetings

    • Conferences and educational platforms


8. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all activities comply with:

    • COBE (Code of Business Ethics)

    • Organizational compliance guidelines

  • Ensure timely approval of:

    • Promotional materials

    • Physician education content

    • Patient education materials

  • Maintain adherence to promotional material approval policies


Educational Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • MBBS with:

    • Full-time postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years) in any medical discipline, or

    • MBA from a reputed institute


Experience Requirements

  • Fresh postgraduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in field-based Medical Affairs

  • Prior exposure to scientific engagement activities is preferred


Technical Skills

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • Deep therapeutic area knowledge

  • Understanding of:

    • Research methodologies

    • Clinical data interpretation

    • Scientific literature analysis
