Position Overview

Fortrea is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with the overall pharmacy operations, including the management of investigational drug products. This is a full-time, office-based position in Daytona Beach, FL. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be involved in Phase 1 trials, directly impacting patient care by supporting the preparation, storage, and handling of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the receipt, storage, packaging, and retention of API and IMPs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Clinical Practices (GCP).
  • Support the Pharmacist/Study Lead in sponsor interactions and study meetings.
  • Maintain detailed records regarding API/IMP handling and ensure proper documentation.
  • Prepare doses and assist with manufacturing/assembly/dispensing of drug products.
  • Manage stock levels to ensure the pharmacy is always appropriately stocked.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the pharmacy environment.
  • Participate in study operations tasks, and cross-train in relevant areas.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (as required by state law) or LVN/LPN License.
  • 1-2 years of pharmaceutical experience, with a preference for experience in hospital or long-term care pharmacy settings and sterile preparation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict adherence to study protocols and timelines.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a technology-driven environment for data collection.
