The Position
Roche is seeking a highly skilled Pathologist to join its research and development team in Tucson, Arizona. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic projects, including companion diagnostics, predictive tests, and assay development for cancer and other critical diseases. The Pathologist will play a pivotal role in supporting FDA submissions, clinical trials, and pharma client projects, while contributing to the development of novel antibodies, detection systems, probes, and special stains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert pathology and slide reading support for FDA submissions, clinical trials, and pharmaceutical clients.

  • Support research and development initiatives, including primary antibody development, detection systems, probes, and special stains.

  • Serve as a medical representative on project core teams, contributing to pathology-related aspects of development projects.

  • Advise on future pathology and medical needs, ensuring alignment with industry advancements and innovations.

  • Drive continuous process improvement to enhance operational efficiency and quality outcomes.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance assay development using technologies such as multiplex immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, mRNA in situ hybridization, and digital pathology.

Qualifications & Experience

  • M.D. or D.O. Pathologist with US Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology.

  • Active State Medical License.

  • Residency-trained in pathology.

  • Fellowship-trained with at least 1 year of clinical practice or industry experience preferred.

  • Prior experience in immunohistochemistry, cytology, molecular diagnostics, and/or genetics is advantageous.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Expected salary range: USD 174,000 – 323,100 per year (based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location).

  • Discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
