Clinical Program Leader

Roche, a global leader in diagnostics and pharmaceutical innovation, is seeking a Clinical Program Leader within the Clinical Development & Medical Affairs (CDMA) chapter. This senior role provides strategic leadership and scientific oversight for global evidence generation programs, ensuring diagnostic solutions are supported by robust data to improve patient outcomes. This position is available in Tucson, AZ; Penzberg, Germany; and the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of global clinical trials, including registrational and non-registrational programs.

  • Develop Integrated Evidence Generation Plans (IEGP) aligned with Life Cycle Teams (LCT) and Project Teams (PT).

  • Serve as a strategic partner across Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Diagnostics, and CDMA chapters to manage risks and align program priorities.

  • Provide technical expertise for trial design, protocols, monitoring plans, and Clinical Study Reports (CSRs).

  • Drive continuous improvement in clinical processes and ensure adherence to international regulations (FDA, CE-Mark, IVD) and departmental SOPs.

  • Represent CDMA in strategic forums such as SPC (Solution Portfolio Committee) and CA LT (Customer Areas Leadership Teams).

  • Manage program-level budgets, resource allocation, and external partnerships to ensure timely delivery of clinical outcomes.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required; advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in clinical trials within Diagnostics, Biotech, or Pharmaceutical industries.

  • Proven senior leadership experience in a global, matrixed environment with multi-site coordination.

  • Deep knowledge of international regulatory standards (ICH-GCP, ISO, GMP, GLP) and clinical testing environments (FDA, CAP, CLIA, WHO).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets and lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel approximately 20% for domestic and international assignments.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Arizona Salary Range: $127,500 – $236,700 USD annually (actual pay based on experience, location, and qualifications).
