Role Overview

A leading global biopharmaceutical services organization is seeking a high-performing Oncology Account Manager to drive strategic territory growth within the Knoxville, Tennessee region. This role is part of a nationwide oncology commercial team focused on delivering innovative and potentially life-saving therapies to patients with rare and complex diseases.

The ideal candidate will bring strong oncology or specialty pharmaceutical expertise, advanced account-based selling capabilities, and a proven record of product launch success within complex healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets through strategic territory planning and disciplined execution.

  • Develop and implement an integrated territory business plan targeting priority oncology accounts.

  • Deliver comprehensive, clinically focused brand presentations to oncologists, hematologists, and allied healthcare professionals.

  • Identify and engage key decision-makers including physician leaders, pharmacy directors, oncology nursing staff, and executive stakeholders.

  • Navigate complex healthcare systems including hospitals, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), and community oncology networks.

  • Build strategic partnerships with oncology C-suite leaders and population health decision-makers.

  • Analyze account-level data, performance metrics, and market trends to create actionable growth strategies.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, medical, and market access teams to optimize patient access and product utilization.

  • Manage complex sales cycles involving biologics, specialty therapies, oncology devices, diagnostics, or specialty pharmacy solutions.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5+ years of biotech, pharmaceutical, biologic, or specialty sales experience.

  • Alternatively, 3+ years of high-science specialty sales experience with complex products may be considered.

  • Experience in oncology, hematology, oncology devices, diagnostics, or specialty pharmacy oncology strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in product launches and consistent achievement of sales goals.

  • Proven expertise in account-based selling and navigating multi-layered healthcare systems.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.

  • Experience managing institutional customers, IDNs, and oncology-focused health systems.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.

  • Advanced degree preferred.
