Role Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based role responsible for engaging with Thought Leaders (TLs) and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) to facilitate scientific exchange and ensure patients' access to BMS medicines. The MSL will spend approximately 60-70% of their time in the field, conducting peer-to-peer discussions on disease management, BMS products, and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) data.


Key Responsibilities

1. External Engagement & Customer Focus

  • Develop and maintain relationships with TLs, HCPs, and access stakeholders.

  • Provide scientific, product, and HEOR-related information via 1:1 and group interactions.

  • Support Key Account medical plans (Army, Railways, CGHS, etc.).

  • Address scientific inquiries while ensuring compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.

  • Gather and share medical insights to shape strategy development.

  • Report safety information and adverse events in line with BMS Standard Operating Procedures.

2. Medical Strategy & Planning

  • Develop a Field Medical Plan aligned with therapeutic area objectives.

  • Contribute to and execute medical initiatives at key institutions/accounts.

  • Lead or support medical programs, such as advisory boards and educational initiatives.

3. Medical Support & Internal Collaboration

  • Provide scientific training and updates to internal teams (e.g., Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Market Access).

  • Support promotional meetings by presenting unbiased scientific data.

  • Assist in evaluating and supporting BMS-contracted speakers.

4. Clinical Trial Support

  • Identify and assess potential study sites for Interventional and Non-Interventional Research (NIR) studies.

  • Support patient recruitment efforts and site feasibility discussions.

  • Ensure adherence to BMS Pharmacovigilance procedures.

  • Guide HCPs through the Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISR) submission process.

5. Patient Advocacy Initiatives

  • Support implementation of patient education programs in collaboration with advocacy groups.

  • Contribute to the development of patient education materials.

  • Ensure safety and compliance in all patient-related initiatives.


Qualifications & Experience

Educational Background

  • MBBS, MD, BDS, or MDS degree required.

Professional Experience

  • 1-2 years of field medical experience in medical affairs (preferred).

  • Experience in Oncology and Hematology is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong scientific and clinical research background.

  • Ability to translate scientific data into actionable insights for HCPs.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of clinical trial design, national healthcare systems, and access environments.

  • Familiarity with HEOR concepts is a plus.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Agile and adaptable mindset to respond to changing business needs.

Languages

  • Fluency in English (spoken & written) is required.
