Overview:

As a Medical Advisor for Oncology, you will play a pivotal role in the execution and development of medical strategies, with a focus on Sotorasib and future pipeline therapies. You will work cross-functionally to ensure the local adaptation of global and regional strategies to meet local priorities. This role will involve collaboration with various stakeholders to shape the healthcare ecosystem and provide medical insights that help guide the development and commercialization of our products.


What You Will Do:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Local Adaptation of Strategy:
    Lead the adaptation of global and regional oncology strategies for Sotorasib, ensuring alignment with local needs and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal teams to support execution and achieve product strategy goals.

  • Medical Strategy Development & Execution:
    Develop and execute patient-focused medical strategies that enhance the value proposition of Amgen’s oncology therapies. This includes strategic planning, launch support, lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Collaboration Across Teams:
    Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, medical societies, payers, and key opinion leaders. Support the development of initiatives that enhance scientific exchange and access to therapies.

  • Evidence Generation & Communication:
    Develop and execute strategies for medical evidence generation, ensuring alignment with global product and brand strategies. Lead and support clinical trial design and the dissemination of clinical data that shapes medical practice.

  • Medical Education & Advocacy:
    Contribute to the development of advocacy strategies, medical education, and communication materials that support the understanding of the unmet need and the value of Amgen’s oncology products.

  • Regulatory & Safety Collaboration:
    Work with Global Regulatory Affairs and Safety to support risk management activities and ensure regulatory compliance for product labeling and clinical trials.

  • External Collaboration & Scientific Engagement:
    Lead and foster relationships with external healthcare professionals and institutions, contributing to the scientific discourse around oncology products. Engage with opinion leaders and participate in advisory boards.

  • Budget & Resource Management:
    Contribute to the management of the medical product budget, ensuring resource allocation aligns with medical strategy and business needs.


What We Expect of You:

We seek a highly skilled and collaborative medical professional with the following qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree and 3 years of directly related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of directly related experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD)
  • Proven experience in a medical expert role within a matrix organization.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical product development, lifecycle management, and commercialization processes.
  • Expertise in oncology and a deep understanding of clinical research, clinical trial design, and biostatistics.
  • Experience in engaging with the external medical community and leading scientific exchanges.
  • Familiarity with local regulatory requirements, GCP, and international guidelines.
