Job Summary

Abbott is hiring a Manager – Global Safety Database for its Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV) team in Mumbai, India. This key role involves maintaining validated safety systems (like ARISg), optimizing pharmacovigilance (PV) IT applications, and serving as the technical liaison among internal stakeholders, Abbott IT, and external vendors. Candidates with at least 5 years of experience in maintaining PV safety databases, preferably ARISg, and strong IT skills in SQL, Oracle, and Java are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the validated state of the PV Global Safety Database and related applications

  • Provide application support for validated GPV IT systems

  • Consult with users to gather business requirements and define best-fit solutions

  • Lead optimization and upgrade projects for safety systems

  • Interface between GPV, internal IT teams, and software vendors

  • Oversee and coordinate with external service providers and functional team members

  • Ensure all processes adhere to regulatory and organizational standards


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Documentation Sciences, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining safety databases (ARISg preferred)

  • Experience in pharma IT and validation (mandatory)

  • Strong understanding of pharmacovigilance processes and regulatory requirements

  • Proficient in SQL, Oracle, Java, and XML

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English

  • Completion of required training (ISOtrain curriculum)
