Position Overview

IQVIA is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support its laboratory operations in Valencia, California. This role is ideal for early-career laboratory professionals looking to build foundational skills in specimen handling, laboratory support, and operational workflow within a global clinical research environment.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

As part of IQVIA’s laboratory division, you will contribute to high-quality processes that advance healthcare research and improve laboratory efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and administrative support to laboratory teams.

  • Clean, dry, distribute, and store laboratory glassware including tubes, beakers, flasks, and cylinders.

  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and laboratory materials following safety and quality standards.

  • Prepare and sterilize supplies, equipment, and laboratory tools.

  • Label tubes and prepare specimens for analysis.

  • Support post-analysis specimen storage, sample banking, and documentation.

  • Assist with equipment upkeep, routine maintenance, and lab organization.

  • Contribute to inventory control and general lab area housekeeping.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Some CAP/CLIA-regulated facilities may require an Associate Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology).

  • 0–6 months of experience in a laboratory or similar technical environment preferred.

  • Basic understanding of laboratory practices, safety standards, and infection control procedures.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.


Skills and Experience Needed

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with frequent standing and walking.

  • Ability to work in varied temperature environments, including cold storage.

  • Familiarity with sterilization methods, decontamination practices, and hazardous waste handling.

  • Understanding of laboratory equipment, basic instrumentation, and technical terminology.

  • Competence in basic computer applications and workflow documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate specimen handling.


Compensation

Annual Base Pay Range: USD $24,400 – $50,900
Actual compensation will vary based on experience, skills, location, and employment schedule. Additional incentives, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package may also be offered.
