Healthcare Payer Client Relationship Manager (Associate Director)

Minneapolis, Minnesota (Onsite, 5 days per week)

Overview:

Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) are vital contributors to Cognizant’s IT and Consulting Business. They act as business owners for assigned accounts—overseeing day-to-day operations, financials (P&L), and client satisfaction.

The CRM collaborates closely with delivery teams to manage backlog, optimize resources, and handle scope changes while ensuring a top-quality client experience.

  • Renewal Win Rates

This position will focus on growing Cognizant’s payer clients in the Minneapolis area and requires the candidate to be onsite 5 days per week.


Key Responsibilities:

Account Growth & Business Development

  • Drive profitable growth through renewals, expansions, and new business opportunities.

  • Balance sales and delivery objectives while ensuring high-quality outcomes.

  • Develop account strategies and cross-sell Cognizant’s emerging services.

  • Lead deal reviews, proposal creation, and executive summaries with timely internal approvals.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships at multiple organizational levels.

  • Create a partner map for key stakeholders and maintain regular engagement with decision-makers.

  • Understand client goals and align Cognizant’s services to meet their business needs.

  • Enhance client satisfaction through proactive management and innovative solutions.

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Collaborate with service lines, innovation, and business teams to define and execute strategic account plans.

  • Drive innovation and transformation initiatives across the client portfolio.

  • Manage account-level P&L, forecasting, and budgeting.

  • Ensure measurable revenue and profit growth within established timelines.

  • Increase Cognizant’s visibility in the account and the broader healthcare payer industry.

Regional Coverage

  • Must be located within daily commuting distance to Minneapolis, MN, and available onsite 5 days per week.

  • Occasional regional travel by car; limited air travel required.


Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in client-facing or account leadership roles within IT professional services or management consulting.

  • Proven experience leading diverse, multi-cultural teams.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Healthcare and related technology trends.

  • Demonstrated success managing sales portfolios, new business, and existing programs.

  • Strategic thinker with proven relationship management capabilities.

  • Strong executive presence, influence, and confidence in navigating large organizations.

  • Education: MBA or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise and credibility in the U.S. Healthcare Payer domain.

  • Experience working in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments.

  • Proven success in large managed services deals (multi-million dollar, multi-year contracts).


Compensation & Incentives:

  • Competitive Base Salary (range not disclosed for Minneapolis role).
