Overview:

Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) are key contributors to the commercial side of Cognizant’s IT and Consulting Business. They act as business owners for assigned accounts—managing day-to-day activities, financial performance, and client satisfaction. CRMs collaborate with delivery teams to optimize resource allocation, manage scope changes, and ensure seamless service delivery.

Role Summary:

The Healthcare Payer Client Relationship Manager (Associate Director) will oversee a major payer client in the Eastern U.S. This role requires balancing business development, account expansion, and delivery excellence, while maintaining overall P&L accountability. The CRM will lead strategic client relationships, drive innovation, and enable Cognizant’s growth within the healthcare payer domain.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management & Growth

    • Manage P&L, forecasting, budgeting, and overall account performance.

    • Drive profitable growth through renewals, expansions, and new opportunities.

    • Identify and pursue business development and cross-selling opportunities.

  • Client Relationship Management

    • Build and sustain relationships with client decision-makers and influencers.

    • Understand client business goals and align Cognizant’s services accordingly.

    • Regularly meet with clients to assess satisfaction and identify value opportunities.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution

    • Collaborate with service lines, innovation, and business teams to create and execute account strategies.

    • Lead deal reviews, proposal development, and executive summaries.

    • Manage partnerships and leverage Cognizant alliances for account growth.

  • Innovation & Delivery Excellence

    • Drive innovation initiatives and ensure top-quality service delivery.

    • Maintain high client satisfaction and ensure measurable business outcomes.


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 15+ years in client-facing or account leadership roles in IT services or consulting.

  • Proven success managing diverse teams and multi-cultural environments.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Healthcare Payer systems and related technology trends.

  • Demonstrated track record in managing portfolios across sales, renewals, and programs.

  • Exceptional relationship management and strategic thinking skills.

  • Strong executive presence, persuasion ability, and organizational navigation.

  • Education: MBA or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise and credibility in the U.S. Healthcare Payer domain.

  • Experience in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments.

  • Proven success in leading and closing large managed services deals (multi-million $ / multi-year).


Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $165,000 – $175,000

  • Annual Target Bonus: 30%
