Program Overview

Internship Duration: 10–12 weeks
Location: New advanced technology assembly and packaging site in New Albany, Ohio

This graduate-level summer internship combines project-based learning and professional development in Amgen’s Operations organization, which includes:

  • Supply Chain

  • Process Development

  • Manufacturing

  • Quality

  • Facilities & Engineering

Your work will support the successful delivery of this state-of-the-art facility while driving key initiatives in cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities

Interns will:

  • Develop a project charter outlining objectives, stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables

  • Collaborate across departments to:

    • Identify problems

    • Analyze current processes

    • Develop recommendations using qualitative and quantitative methods

  • Present findings in formats such as:

    • Executive readouts

    • Intern-wide poster sessions

  • Receive ongoing professional development through:

    • 1:1 mentoring

    • Training sessions

    • Networking events

    • Exposure to Amgen’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)


Basic Qualifications

To qualify for this graduate internship, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Be currently enrolled in one of the following programs at an accredited university:

    • MBA (Master of Business Administration)

    • Master’s program

    • PharmD

    • PhD program

  • Have completed at least one year of the applicable graduate program by the start of the internship

  • Be enrolled full-time in your graduate program after the internship

  • Be located in the U.S. for the entire internship duration

  • Not be employed at the start of the internship


Preferred Qualifications

  • Expected graduation in Summer 2027

  • Academic focus in:

    • Engineering

    • Life Sciences

    • Chemistry / Chemical Engineering

    • Biotechnology

    • Applied Mathematics or Data Science

    • Finance or Supply Chain

  • Technical skills:

    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

    • Familiarity with Excel VBA and SQL

  • Strong soft and professional skills:

    • Communication & interpersonal skills

    • Analytical & problem-solving skills

    • Organizational & project management capabilities

    • Flexibility, adaptability, and self-motivation

  • Proven leadership experience through:

    • Academic projects

    • Student organizations

    • Athletics or campus involvement
