Job Title: Medical Information Officer

 

About the Job

We are seeking a Medical Information Officer with up to two years’ experience to join our growing team! Previous experience in the Pharma Services industry may be beneficial, with a solid understanding of medical information management and compliance required.

PharSafer® is a specialist Pharmacovigilance & Medical Service CRO, headquartered in the UK, with offices also in India and Europe. Due to Company growth, we are looking for a dedicated and committed Medical Information Officer to be based in the UK. This role is home-based, and whilst based remotely, you will become part of a growing team, involved in a variety of projects that help maintain our high standards of medical information provision and contribute to further business growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Medical Enquiries: Answer medical enquiries via the medical information telephone line and medical information mailboxes within office hours.
  • Safety Reports: Record and process safety reports received as a result of a medical information enquiry via dedicated medical information, Individual Case Safety Report (ICSR) telephone lines or mailboxes and report to the client's designated pharmacovigilance (PV) department.
  • Product Quality Complaints (PQCs): Record and forward PQCs received as a result of a medical information enquiry to the appropriate client contacts.
  • Administration: Document medical information enquiries, write emails and letters to enquirers, and file enquiry documentation.
  • Quality Reviews: Undertake monthly (or as required by the client) quality reviews of completed medical enquiries.
  • Reconciliation Activities: Perform medical enquiry reconciliation activities.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Maintain PharSafer’s client-specific medical information documentation, ensuring all materials (training documents, educational materials, clinical papers, supporting information, and contact lists) are up to date and available for use.
  • Reference Documents: Contribute to and maintain frequently asked questions (FAQ) and other reference documents for client products.
  • Training: Train staff in medical information provision and act as a training mentor as required.
  • Departmental Meetings: Attend and participate in Pharmacovigilance and Medical Information departmental meetings.
  • Client Meetings and Training: Attend and participate in relevant client meetings and training as required.
  • Client On-boarding/Off-boarding: Assist with the on-boarding and off-boarding of clients.
  • Audits and Inspections: Prepare, participate, and assist in any client or Regulatory Authority audits and inspections related to medical information services provided.
  • Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs): Contribute to and/or complete departmental CAPAs.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME): Act as an SME for designated areas of responsibility.
  • Project Support: Provide support/representation for the medical information project team in meetings with clients and other departmental personnel.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Educational Background: Degree in a life science (or equivalent) with at least a 2:1 grade or equivalent relevant experience in the industry.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Initiative and Proactivity: Demonstrates initiative and has a proactive approach to work.
  • Attention to Detail: Good attention to detail and well-organized.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Task Management: Ability to prioritize and organize tasks working to required timelines.
  • Professionalism: Confident and professional manner.
  • Willingness to Travel: Willingness to travel as required.
