Role Overview

The Director / Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs will lead complex Medical Affairs projects across medical content development, MLR (Medical/Legal/Regulatory) review, Medical Affairs operations, and consulting services. This role functions as both a Client and Project Manager, and as a people manager for the European Medical Affairs team.

As a key member of the MA leadership team, this position contributes to strategy development, solution offerings, innovation, and team growth across therapeutic areas. The role collaborates with global leaders within EVERSANA’s Medical Information and Medical Affairs service line to enhance the delivery of integrated, best-in-class solutions to clients.


Key Responsibilities

Project & Client Management

  • Lead and manage cross-functional Medical Affairs projects, ensuring alignment with client goals, timelines, and quality standards.

  • Serve as the primary Client/Project Manager, overseeing teams of internal staff and external consultants.

  • Manage complex deliverables for multiple clients simultaneously.

Medical Affairs Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute Global Medical Affairs strategies, aligning with organizational and client objectives.

  • Drive innovation and solution offerings in collaboration with the MA leadership team.

  • Oversee positioning, marketing information, thought leadership materials, white papers, publications, webinars, and campaigns.

  • Maintain knowledge of European market trends, regulations, and best practices.

Operational Excellence & Innovation

  • Champion process optimization, technology adoption, and digital tools to enhance efficiency and quality.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation in Medical Affairs service delivery.

  • Implement scalable frameworks across therapeutic areas and regions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Global Medical Information, Global Medical Affairs, and other business units to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Represent Medical Affairs in strategic discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure alignment and excellence across all Medical Affairs deliverables.

Team Development & People Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and manage high-performing Medical Affairs teams in Europe.

  • Recruit, onboard, and train new employees and consultants.

  • Promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and a culture of accountability and collaboration.

Client Servicing & Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain long-term strategic relationships with client stakeholders.

  • Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address concerns to drive retention and business growth.

  • Identify opportunities to expand EVERSANA’s services within client organizations.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Advanced Medical/Scientific degree (MPharm, MD, PhD, or equivalent).

Experience:

  • Associate Director: 5+ years in Medical Affairs within pharma, biotech, or medical devices.

  • Director: 10+ years in Medical Affairs, including leadership and team management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, vendor/technology management, and complex client deliverables.

  • Expertise in Medical Affairs operations across Medical Information, Medical Communications, HEOR, Investigator Initiated Studies, Independent Medical Education, Evidence Generation, etc.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and drive results in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

  • Experience in Agile work culture and continuous process improvement, including adoption of innovative technologies (AI, digital tools).

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Ability to influence outcomes and lead cross-functional teams effectively.

  • Detail-oriented with commitment to operational excellence and compliance.


Expectations & Logistics

  • Travel: Up to 25%

  • Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
