Job Summary:
The Analyst II, Demand Planner is responsible for leading forecasting activities by analyzing market trends, customer data, and historical sales performance. This role supports business decisions and strategic planning through demand forecasting and plays an integral role in Integrated Business Planning (IBP), working closely with cross-functional teams to drive commercial success and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer sales forecasts, compare them against actual demand, and adjust projections using trend analysis and SAP IBP tools.

  • Monitor forecast shifts due to customer wins/losses and update accordingly.

  • Support the IBP process by aligning strategic, operational, and financial goals through data insights and presentations.

  • Participate in monthly internal/external forecast alignment meetings.

  • Communicate forecast insights, trends, and potential risks to stakeholders.

  • Identify and mitigate forecast risks caused by market or operational changes.

  • Manage transitions of new product forecast ownership from Marketing to Commercial Operations.

  • Lead cross-functional meetings to highlight key topics and enable informed decision-making.

  • Recommend adjustments to unconstrained demand to optimize inventory and production.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to translate launch forecasts into customer-level forecasts.

  • Reconcile forecast discrepancies using Marketing and Financial input.

  • Evaluate wholesaler inventory via internal tools or customer portals and communicate updates to Sales.

  • Provide strategic guidance on customer-specific product allocations.

  • Analyze inventory and recommend changes to maintain supply sufficiency.

  • Address supply chain risks by assessing daily sales orders and recommending release strategies or product substitutions.

  • Promote customer compliance and support efforts to manage short-dated or risk inventory.

  • Make inventory location and safety stock level recommendations.

  • Independently oversee bid management and prepare contracts for final decisions.

  • Analyze inventory availability for RFPs and one-time buys.

  • Update Vistex and SAP systems with supply and bid results.

  • Participate in monthly team meetings and performance reviews with management.

  • Resolve cross-departmental issues with potential financial impact.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or 3–5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or supply chain sectors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with acute attention to detail.

  • Solid understanding of the generic pharmaceutical industry.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
