Job Overview

Fortrea is seeking a Clinical Research Technician to interact with healthy volunteer participants while gaining exposure to a variety of therapeutic indications and study types. This is a full-time, office/clinic-based position in Daytona Beach, FL. The role requires rotational work shifts, with responsibilities including the collection and processing of biological samples, performing health assessments, and ensuring dietary compliance. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in Phase 1 clinical trials and contribute to life-changing drug development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health Monitoring:
    • Accurately perform blood pressure, venipuncture, weight, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature readings.
    • Prepare and record ECGs/Holters.
  • Sample Collection & Processing:
    • Collect and process biological samples according to the protocol and distribute them accordingly.
  • Participant Compliance & Support:
    • Monitor meals to ensure dietary compliance by research participants.
    • Assist in preparing rooms and medical equipment for procedures.
  • Safety & Cleanliness:
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working and study environment.
    • Assist with screening procedures as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications:
    • EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA, or CNA certification preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 0–1 year of related experience.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with strict adherence to protocols.
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
    • Comfortable using technology and data entry systems for clinical research.
