Job Overview

Fortrea is seeking a Clinical Operations Manager to oversee the management, organization, and administration of the Laboratory/Sample Processing Department. This role involves leadership, training, coaching, and mentoring clinical operations staff to ensure all work complies with protocols, SOPs, ICH/GCP guidelines, and scientific and medical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise clinical operations staff, both technical and professional.
    • Ensure staff compliance with SOPs and ICH/GCP guidelines.
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff members to enhance their skills.
  • Training & Compliance:
    • Ensure all training files are up to date and complete as per SOPs.
    • Oversee and verify that staff are adequately trained in relevant skills and operational procedures.
  • Scientific & Medical Standards:
    • Ensure scientific and medical standards are met for laboratory and sample processing operations.
    • Ensure adherence to protocols and quality control procedures in clinical research.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • A BS in a science or medical field is preferred, though relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in laboratory/sample management.
    • Supervisory or leadership experience in clinical research coordination/management is required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Must be able to distinguish colors and meet job requirements involving hearing and vision.
  • Handling biologically hazardous and radiolabeled materials.
  • Ability to use hands for up to 6 hours a day, stand or bend for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • Travel requirements: Less than 5% of the time for cross-site support or training.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $80,000–$90,000 USD
