🧭 Introduction to the Role

Are you ready to lead a team that plays a crucial role in ensuring patient safety?
As the Local Case Intake Team Manager, you will oversee the local case intake process for Japan regulatory reporting, ensuring efficient and compliant handling of adverse event reports.

This role requires:

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Deep understanding of pharmacovigilance regulations

  • Ability to manage a fast-paced team environment

  • Fluency in Japanese and English

You’ll guide your team to achieve high-quality standards in case processing and regulatory compliance.


⚙️ Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage the Local Case Intake Team, including guidance, training, and performance management.

  • Oversee intake, processing, and reporting of Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) in line with pharmacovigilance regulations and AstraZeneca standards.

  • Ensure timely and accurate case processing for all patient safety cases.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing reports and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Stay updated with local and global pharmacovigilance regulations, ensuring SOP compliance.

  • Participate in audits and inspections, maintaining audit readiness.

  • Act as a liaison between local and global pharmacovigilance teams, ensuring smooth communication.

  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects at Global, Regional, or Local MC levels.


🎓 Essential Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Degree Qualified in Pharmacy, Medical, or Life Sciences

Experience

  • 2–5 years of proven team management experience

  • Strong life-science background

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

  • Cross-functional collaboration experience

  • Experience managing priorities, resources, and project initiatives

Skills

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

  • Ability to motivate and develop multicultural teams

  • Strong strategic influence and communication skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT): N2 or higher

  • English Proficiency: B1 (CEFR) or above


💡 Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Higher Degree (MBA / PhD) in a relevant field

  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacovigilance within the pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong understanding of current regulatory developments in PV
