Job Summary

Apotex is seeking a Manager – Payroll Services to lead payroll and data management functions for its India operations. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, statutory compliance, and seamless employee data management. The Manager will also drive payroll audits, employee queries resolution, and continuous improvement of payroll systems while mentoring a high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, including salary calculations, deductions, variable pay, and benefits administration.

  • Maintain employee records in SAP Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll, ensuring accurate attendance, leave, and personal data management.

  • Ensure compliance with Indian labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory filings (PF, ESI, TDS, Gratuity, etc.).

  • Manage payroll for resigned, terminated, or absconding employees, including final settlements, recoveries, and asset reconciliation.

  • Lead payroll audits, prepare reports, and coordinate with internal and external auditors.

  • Handle employee payroll queries, discrepancies, and escalate issues as required.

  • Support annual increments, bonus payouts (APIP, GAIP), and union settlements (LTS).

  • Participate in payroll system upgrades, testing, and implementation to maintain data integrity.

  • Mentor and develop payroll team members, providing constructive feedback, performance evaluation, and career development support.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Payroll, Finance, Business Management, or related field.

  • Preferred certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), PayrollOrg courses, or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a corporate or multinational setting.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, payroll compliance, and tax regulations.

  • Proficiency in SAP Employee Central Payroll, WFS, Spectra, and advanced Excel/data analysis skills.

  • Experience in payroll audits, statutory filings, and reporting.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines effectively.
