Role Overview:
The Writer – GCH plays a critical role in Medical Affairs by developing high-quality, accurate, and scientifically balanced content across the drug development lifecycle. This includes regulatory documents, clinical trial materials, publications, educational content for healthcare providers (HCPs) and patients, and internal training resources.

The Writer ensures that Lilly maintains a consistent, credible, and patient-focused voice while providing healthcare stakeholders with clear, actionable scientific information. The role requires collaboration across global and regional teams and engagement with scientific experts to support Medical Affairs strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation, editing, and finalization of regulatory, clinical, and medical content, including:

    • Slide decks, internal training materials, and manuscript slides

    • Data presentations, newsletters, QR compendium, and advisory board content

    • HCP and patient educational materials

    • Competitive landscape and medical questions analysis documents (MQAD)

  • Develop cohesive content strategies by evaluating input from multiple functions, regions, and data sources.

  • Ensure all content is scientifically accurate, clear, concise, consistent, and aligned with regulatory and company standards.

  • Coordinate expert and peer reviews, integrate feedback, and maintain quality assurance across all deliverables.

  • Apply effective project and stakeholder management skills to deliver content on time, anticipate risks, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic areas, clinical development processes, regulatory and publication guidelines.

  • Mentor and share best practices with team members and contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing initiatives.

  • Collaborate with internal and external experts and vendors as required to produce high-quality medical communications.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Communications, or a related scientific field.

  • Demonstrated experience in medical, scientific, or regulatory writing.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; mastery of technical and scientific content creation.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple writing projects with strict timelines.

  • Experience with clinical trial documents, regulatory submissions, and Medical Affairs communications preferred.

  • Knowledge of clinical pharmacology, therapeutic areas (e.g., oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, immunology, or endocrinology) is a plus.

  • Advanced proficiency in document management systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.

  • Graduate degree with formal research experience or life sciences specialization is an advantage.
