Role Overview

The Medical Writer – Specialist will play a critical role in creating, reviewing, and managing scientific and medical content across multiple platforms. This position involves end-to-end content submission, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in alignment with Brand, AMA, and regulatory guidelines.

You will also mentor junior writers, conduct quality control, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support seamless submission processes and address content-related queries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and proofread medical and scientific content across digital, print, and multimedia platforms.

  • Conduct literature reviews and background research to enhance content quality and scientific accuracy.

  • Ensure all content complies with Brand, AMA, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Translate complex medical concepts into clear, compelling messaging for diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals, patients, and consumers.

  • Maintain content matrices, modular content, and core claims documentation to support omnichannel campaigns.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and clients to align content with project goals.

  • Mentor and guide junior writers, fostering knowledge transfer and professional development.

  • Participate in internal and client meetings, providing scientific input and supporting strategic content decisions.

  • Support proposal development and ideation for new business opportunities when required.

  • Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.


Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Science, Pharmacy, Medical, or related fields.

  • 8–12 years of experience in medical writing or scientific content creation.

Technical Skills & Tools:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, EndNote or other reference managers, Veeva Vault (preferred), and PubMed.

  • Familiarity with modular content and omnichannel marketing.

  • Preferred certifications: CMPP (Certified Medical Publication Professional), AMWA Medical Writing Certification, or equivalent.
