About the Role:
Medtronic is seeking a Sterilization Specialist (Microbiologist) to strengthen the Sterility Assurance Program at its Swiss Manufacturing Operations (SMO) in Tolochenaz. The role involves managing sterilization validations, handling process anomalies, and collaborating across departments to ensure compliance and optimal process performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the annual requalification plan for sterilization equipment

  • Develop and execute protocols, reports, and studies for sterilization validation

  • Ensure compliance with evolving sterilization and microbiology standards for medical devices

  • Evaluate deviations from specifications and recommend corrective actions

  • Coordinate sterilization equipment requalifications and document updates

  • Analyze data using statistical tools and ensure process equivalence reporting

  • Propose and implement process improvements or new sterilization techniques

  • Participate in method transfer requirements and collaborate with global Medtronic sites

  • Serve as point of contact during audits and support regulatory compliance


Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in microbiology or sterilization engineering

  • Post-graduate degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g., Biology)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluent in French and English

  • Preferred experience with:

    • Ethylene Oxide (EtO) and/or Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂) sterilization

    • Standards: ISO 11135, 10993, 11737, 11138, 13485, 22441

  • Analytical mindset and experience in problem-solving (e.g., Yellow or Green Belt certification)
