Position Summary

The Sterilization Microbiologist will perform sterilization validation activities for both new and existing products using Ethylene Oxide (EO) and Radiation sterilization methods.
This role supports R&D and Manufacturing teams in qualifying sterilization processes for new product introductions and modifications to existing devices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sterilization qualification for new and existing products.

  • Perform sterilization validation for radiation-sterilized products (dose setting, quarterly dose audits).

  • Execute sterilization validation for ethylene oxide–sterilized products (qualification, annual revalidations, residual EO studies, D-value studies).

  • Investigate dose audit failures and EO Biological Indicator sterility positives.

  • Support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) related to sterilization non-conformances.


Education & Experience Requirements

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.

  • Equivalent education and work experience may be considered.

Required Experience:

  • 0–2 years of related work experience.

  • Basic understanding of microbiological and sterilization principles.

  • Familiarity with regulated quality system environments (FDA, ISO 13485).

  • Limited scope for independent decision-making; works under supervision.


Work Environment

  • Role performed in a quality system environment.

  • Non-compliance may lead to regulatory implications.

  • Follows company policies, procedures, and professional concepts to solve routine problems.


Compensation

Base Pay Range:
💰 $50,000 – $100,000 annually
(Pay range may vary by specific location.)
