Role Overview

The Deputy Manager – Record to Report is responsible for overseeing and executing accounting and financial operations within the Record to Report process. The role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant general ledger management, reconciliations, and reporting. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a complex matrix organization while delivering high-quality financial outputs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general accounting tasks and manage financial operations independently.

  • Prepare, reconcile, and analyze general ledger accounts, including intercompany accounts.

  • Generate monthly closing reports and conduct thorough quality assurance reviews to ensure internal control compliance.

  • Conduct ad hoc reporting and regulatory filings, investigating and resolving issues with clear documentation.

  • Identify unusual transactions and escalate as required.

  • Maintain accurate and well-documented journal entries in alignment with US GAAP and company policies.

  • Respond to internal and external audit requests and provide detailed analysis.

  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Adhere to company policies, including flexibility in work arrangements, team assignments, and process updates.


Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 7 years of professional accounting experience, with progressively increasing responsibilities.

  • Hands-on experience in general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; advanced Excel skills preferred for data analysis and workbook development.

  • Familiarity with Peoplesoft General Ledger, Essbase, or similar reporting tools.

  • Knowledge of internal control compliance and financial regulatory standards.

  • Experience with Microsoft Access is an added advantage.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage large data volumes efficiently.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills within a matrix organization.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and meet financial reporting requirements.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time evening shift based in Hyderabad, India.

  • No travel required.
