Position Overview: We are looking for a Staff Pharmacist to join our dynamic, customer-focused team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Draw doses at low-energy or PET (Positron Emission Tomography) facilities, either manually or using manipulator arms.
  • Compound drugs in compliance with customer orders, and elute generators to create correct doses and materials.
  • Perform constancy checks on dose calibrators and single-channel analyzers (SCA), ensuring that all equipment remains in proper working order.
  • Conduct quality control tests, including sterility, pyrogenicity, gas chromatography, alumina, and molybdenum tests for PET and low-energy products.
  • Monitor the radiation safety program, investigate potential radiation exposure threats, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Perform a variety of tests including lab wipes, bio-assays, and contamination level surveys.
  • Pack and wrap containers for shipment and document the results of radiation surveys.
  • Serve as Radiation Safety Officer as assigned by the Manager of Pharmacy, or in their absence when appropriate.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
  • Authorization as an “Authorized User” of radioactive materials on the pharmacy’s radioactive materials license and active state licensure is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a nuclear pharmacist, preferably within a medical or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred, particularly in motivating staff and achieving performance goals.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear pharmacy processes, quality assurance, and radiation safety protocols.
