Position Summary:
The Graphics & Multi-Media Designer will play a critical role in the Patient Engagement Capabilities group, responsible for creating engaging, health literacy-optimized patient-facing content for clinical trials. This role is pivotal in producing and designing digital content (including static images, animations, videos, and interactive web pages) that improves patient recruitment and retention strategies. The designer will work closely with health literacy content creators, business unit teams, and other stakeholders to develop and deliver innovative visual communications that enhance the patient experience throughout their clinical trial journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Content Creation:

    • Create engaging, health literacy-optimized content for clinical trial materials.
    • Develop digital content including medical illustrations, infographics, interactive videos, animations, motion graphics, and video post-production.
    • Implement visual design principles to ensure clarity and accessibility for patient audiences.
    • Design layouts and content in alignment with Lilly’s Brand Book and Design System.
    • Produce multimedia content such as audio files, videos, and interactive elements for various platforms.
  • Operational Excellence:

    • Collaborate with internal teams to understand and fulfill creative content needs for patient engagement.
    • Maintain templates and design systems for digital content, ensuring consistency across all projects.
    • Ensure all created content is compliant with Lilly policies, procedures, and health literacy standards.
    • Coordinate with content developers and editors across multiple time zones to ensure timely delivery of materials.
    • Develop and refine storyboards for multimedia projects.
  • Client Management & Project Coordination:

    • Manage project timelines and capacity, ensuring smooth collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding project status, risks, and improvements.
    • Proactively address any roadblocks or delays, escalating issues when necessary.
    • Track and report on project progress to ensure alignment with goals and timelines.
    • Work collaboratively with other designers, content creators, and stakeholders to continuously improve creative processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in medical, health media, or content development.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or regulated industry (preferred).
  • Expertise in graphic and multimedia software programs including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using media authoring tools such as Vyond/GoAnimate, Premier, Articulate Storyline, Captivate, or Camtasia.
  • Strong attention to detail and superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in health literacy and patient-focused design is highly preferred.

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience working in a regulated environment (pharmaceuticals, healthcare, etc.).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to approach projects in innovative ways.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience managing timelines and capacity for multiple stakeholders in a global team.
  • Familiarity with Lilly’s Brand Book and Design Systems is a plus.
