Position Overview:

As a Remote Medical Coder, you will:

  • Analyze medical records for inpatient, outpatient, and/or professional services.
  • Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes following physician documentation.
  • Uphold the Standards of Ethical Coding by AHIMA and official coding guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and HCPCS/CPT coding in acute care inpatient, outpatient, or professional service settings.
  • Education:

    • High school diploma required.
  • Certifications (Active & Verified):

    • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician).
    • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator).
    • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist).
    • CPC (Certified Professional Coder).
    • CIRCC (Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder).
  • Skills:

    • Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, MS-DRGs, APCs, MPFS/RVUs, POAs, and HACs (specific knowledge depends on inpatient, outpatient, or professional coding specialization).
    • Ability to manage repetitive motions (25% keyboard, 75% mouse for data entry).
