🎯 Role Overview

As a Spanish & Portuguese Speaking Pharmacovigilance QC Associate, you will:

  • Translate and quality-check Adverse Event (AE) reports from Spanish and Portuguese into English

  • Perform data entry and QC into the safety database (Argus Affiliate/Core)

  • Maintain timely completion of case assignments, ensure quality, and audit readiness

  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain accuracy and compliance in pharmacovigilance processes


🧾 Key Responsibilities

Case Processing & Translation

  • Receive, download, and accept cases from Document Exchange Tool or other sources

  • Translate source documents from Spanish/Portuguese to English, if required

  • Update Standard AE forms with relevant information

  • Save local language source documents and AE forms in shared folders

  • Triage cases for validity and seriousness

  • Perform duplicate searches

  • Book-in initial/follow-up cases depending on duplicate search results

  • Enter mandatory data into Argus Affiliate/Core database

  • Conduct self/peer QC before routing to central processing

  • Anonymize/redact source documents and AE forms

  • Maintain daily case tracking spreadsheets

Case Review & Follow-Up

  • Handle queries/action items from central processing sites regarding discrepancies

  • Follow up with Country Organization (CO) if required

  • Generate follow-up action items for fatal, life-threatening, serious, non-serious, pregnancy, and non-cases

  • Generate follow-up letters and transfer Patient Safety Information (PSI) to CO

  • Transfer cases to central site/case processing team

  • Prioritize cases based on validity and seriousness

  • Ensure translated/booked-in cases are medically relevant, complete, and accurate

Quality Control & Process Improvement

  • Review translations and AE forms for accuracy, completeness, and SOP compliance

  • Identify clinically relevant missing or incorrect information and facilitate correction

  • Provide feedback, monitor performance, and work with TCBAs to improve quality

  • Assist in training and mentorship of associates

  • Support audits and inspections, knowledge of ICH guidelines


🎓 Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate/Postgraduate/Doctorate in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, or equivalent

  • Freshers to 2+ years of experience in Pharmacovigilance preferred

  • Excellent spoken and written Spanish, Portuguese, and English (B2 CEFR minimum)

  • Knowledge of pharmacovigilance processes and AE reporting

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a multilingual and multicultural environment
