Bilingual English-Spanish Practice Extend Clinical Administrative Coordinator – Remote

Location: Remote (AR, LA, TN, IL, MS, OH, IN, MO, KY)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (with flexibility to work until 7 PM two days a week)


Job Summary

Optum, a global leader in healthcare solutions and part of UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a Bilingual English-Spanish Clinical Administrative Coordinator (Practice Extend Team) to support high-risk patients by scheduling PCP appointments, coordinating with provider offices, and managing patient engagement. This fully remote role allows you to leverage your healthcare expertise, administrative skills, and bilingual communication abilities to improve patient outcomes and ensure seamless care coordination.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engage high-risk patients telephonically to schedule PCP appointments and Comprehensive Medication Reviews with clinical pharmacists.

  • Manage inbound and outbound calls, ensuring efficient patient and provider communication.

  • Utilize multiple technology systems and coordinate with provider offices and pharmacies to gather patient data.

  • Prepare patient cases in workflow management platforms for care team follow-ups.

  • Facilitate clinical information exchange between the care team and provider offices.

  • Notify the care team of any changes in patient status that could impact care plans or medications.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with provider offices and patients to ensure effective engagement.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.

  • 2+ years of experience in a medical or healthcare setting (hospital, pharmacy, or physician’s office).

  • 2+ years of experience with medical terminology.

  • 1+ year of experience handling high-volume patient communication via phone.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Webex, and Windows-based systems.

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, with flexibility to work until 7 PM two days a week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pharmacy Technician or Medical Assistant background.

  • Experience with managed care or insurance-based healthcare services.
