Role Summary:

The Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) will be responsible for promoting Pfizer’s oncology product portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists, improving patient experiences with Pfizer products, and educating the healthcare community on their appropriate use. This role plays a critical part in enhancing Pfizer’s brand by identifying and leveraging key business insights and building strong relationships with healthcare providers (HCPs) in hospitals, large group practices, and managed care organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Promotion:

    • Promote Pfizer’s oncology product portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists.
    • Educate healthcare providers about the appropriate use of Pfizer’s products and therapeutic areas.
    • Build strong relationships with key accounts, institutions, and customers to enhance the overall quality of patient care.
  2. Account Management and Strategy:

    • Identify and assess the needs of target accounts and HCPs, developing strategic account plans to achieve desired objectives.
    • Work strategically with key oncology thought leaders and high-influence customers in hospitals and large practices.
    • Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and institutions, particularly NCI centers, to generate demand for Pfizer’s products.
  3. Business Development:

    • Utilize a deep understanding of oncology disease states, therapeutic areas, and products to drive business growth.
    • Overcome challenges to access healthcare providers and key stakeholders in difficult-to-penetrate accounts.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to leverage resources and provide tailored support to customers.
  4. Sales Performance and Reporting:

    • Achieve quarterly sales targets and contribute to Pfizer’s overall sales performance.
    • Track and report on sales performance and key account activities.
    • Provide timely feedback and market insights to internal stakeholders, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  5. Customer Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions.
    • Support healthcare providers throughout the selling process, addressing any needs or concerns with relevant solutions and resources.
    • Maintain relationships with top-priority customers to ensure long-term business success.
  6. Technical Expertise and Learning:

    • Continuously update knowledge of oncology therapies, disease states, and treatment options.
    • Demonstrate a high aptitude for learning and communicate complex technical and scientific product information effectively to diverse customers.
    • Leverage digital applications and tools to engage with customers and deliver Pfizer’s information effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • BA/BS degree from an accredited institution, OR an associate’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, OR a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience or 4+ years of oncology healthcare professional (HCP) experience.
    • Demonstrated success in previous pharmaceutical sales or oncology HCP roles.
    • Ability to communicate complex scientific information to a wide range of healthcare professionals.
    • Strong business acumen and proficiency with digital tools and technology.
  • Other Requirements:

    • Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards.
    • Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of oncology sales experience.
  • Master’s Degree or Advanced Healthcare Professional (HCP) Degree.
  • Experience working with institutions, NCI centers, and key opinion leaders.
  • Familiarity with Moffitt Cancer Center is strongly preferred.

  • Oncology Expertise: In-depth knowledge of oncology products, therapeutic areas, and disease management.
  • Strategic Selling: Experience in account management, territory planning, and strategic sales execution.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare providers.
  • Sales Acumen: Ability to generate demand, overcome sales barriers, and manage accounts effectively.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Other Job Details:

  • Work Schedule: Field-based position requiring some weekend and conference work.
  • Relocation Assistance: May be available based on business needs.
  • Salary Range: $101,500 - $277,900, with an additional quarterly Sales Incentive bonus.
