Senior Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer – Bangalore (On-site)

Job Summary

ICON plc is hiring a Senior Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer to join its Biometrics Portfolio in Bangalore. This is a full-time on-site position ideal for professionals with 8+ years of experience in clinical data management or programming within pharma or biotech settings. The role involves managing complex external datasets including biomarker, imaging, IRT, and eCOA data, ensuring data standardization, quality, and integration aligned with regulatory and CDISC standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external clinical data management within global development.

  • Oversee quality control, integration, and standardization of external data (biomarker, imaging, eCOA, IRT).

  • Lead collaboration across data management, clinical operations, and statistical programming teams.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including 21 CFR Part 11 and ICH-GCP.

  • Extract and transform data into formats such as SAS, CSV, XML for analytics and reporting.

  • Support oncology and non-oncology studies with structured data pipelines.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in external clinical data programming or data management in pharma/biotech.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Computer Science, Data Management, or related scientific/analytical discipline.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in managing biomarker, imaging, and eCOA data.

  • Knowledge of multiple data formats and integration practices.

  • Proficiency in extracting clinical data using SAS, XML, CSV.

  • Deep understanding of CDISC standards and clinical data collection best practices.

  • Advanced familiarity with ICH-GCP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
