Position Overview

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Roche, you will be responsible for conducting high-complexity laboratory testing on clinical specimens, ensuring compliance with study protocols, regulatory guidelines, and operational manuals. You will contribute to both registrational and non-registrational clinical trials and provide strategic guidance to junior scientists. Your role will require flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Clinical Testing & Documentation:

    • Conduct clinical validation testing in compliance with regulatory guidelines and study protocols.

    • Ensure accurate and compliant documentation of all testing activities, acting as a Study Coordinator if needed.

  2. Sample Management & Quality Control:

    • Collaborate with Clinical Operations teams to manage clinical samples effectively.

    • Perform critical evaluations of test results and ensure compliance with established formats and regulatory standards.

  3. Data Analysis & Communication:

    • Analyze and interpret experimental data, presenting findings at internal meetings.

    • Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support as required.

  4. Regulatory & Safety Compliance:

    • Participate in regulatory audits and inspections.

    • Maintain compliance with safety guidelines, ISO, and QSR standards, ensuring documentation is ready for inspection.

  5. Training & Coordination:

    • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and assist with training new team members.

    • Develop training materials and support project planning, scheduling, and laboratory maintenance oversight.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 5 years of relevant industry experience in clinical research, with a preference for 6+ years.

    • Experience in documenting detailed Clinical Trial activities such as Case Report Forms, Sample Accountability, and Investigational Material Accountability Logs.

  • Laboratory Skills:

    • Strong laboratory skills, including pipette handling, understanding protocols, and proficiency in handling biological and hazardous materials.

    • Proficiency with automated scientific analytic instrumentation (e.g., Benchmark ULTRA, ULTRA Plus, DP200, DP600 instruments preferred).

  • Software Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and spreadsheet programs.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $65,500 – $121,600 (depending on experience and qualifications).

  • Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
