About the Team – Antibody Development:
The Antibody Team focuses on developing high-performance, specific reagents for a wide range of immunoassay applications. The work includes antibody design, purification, conjugation, and application testing using advanced scientific tools.


Role Summary:
As a Scientist III – Protein Biology, you will lead a team focused on antigen and antibody development, driving innovation through molecular, protein, and cell biology methods. You will be a critical part of the Bangalore R&D leadership team, mentoring junior scientists, managing cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring timely delivery of projects that contribute to Thermo Fisher’s global antibody portfolio.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a scientific team in antigen/antibody development and validation

  • Drive the development of protocols for antigen design and immunogen strategies

  • Oversee experimental design, data interpretation, and report presentations

  • Collaborate with product management, operations, and business development teams

  • Mentor and train junior team members in research methods and project execution

  • Prepare technical documents and protocols for effective knowledge transfer

  • Ensure accurate data documentation and adherence to quality standards

  • Provide technical support during product commercialization stages

  • Maintain GLP compliance and uphold data integrity throughout all R&D processes


Candidate Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • PhD in Life Sciences with 7+ years of R&D experience or Master’s with 15+ years

  • At least 3–4 years of industry experience in protein/antibody biology

  • Prior team leadership or people management experience is preferred

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong experience in antibody development platforms (hybridoma, single B cell, recombinant)

  • Proficiency in peptide/protein expression and purification from various systems (bacterial, yeast, insect, mammalian)

  • Knowledge in structural biology, computational modeling, and rational protein design

  • Expertise in conjugation chemistries and antibody-protein interactions

  • Skilled in immunoassays like ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, IHC, IF

  • Deep understanding of antigen design and eliciting specific immune responses

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot scientific issues and adapt protocols accordingly
