Key Responsibilities:

  • Radiopharmaceutical Preparation: Draw doses at low energy or PET facilities manually or with manipulator arms; compound drugs per customer orders; elute generators and combine materials to create the correct drug and dose.

  • Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control: Perform constancy checks on dose calibrators and SCA; ensure proper functioning and calibration of equipment like survey meters and dose calibrators; conduct quality assurance tests (e.g., sterility, pyrogenicity).

  • Radiation Safety: Monitor and investigate spills and radiation exposure threats, ensuring the safety program is followed. Perform Radiation Safety Officer duties if assigned.

  • Packaging & Shipment: Pack and prepare containers for shipment; operate survey meters to determine contamination levels and document results.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.

  • Licensing: “Authorized User” of radioactive materials on the pharmacy’s license and active state licensure preferred.

  • Experience:

    • At least 2 years of experience as a nuclear pharmacist (preferred).

    • Supervisory experience in motivating employees in a medical environment is a plus.
